Mark Andrews is a 4 star wide receiver according to Scout.com, and a quick look at his highlight reel shows you why. His first run of the highlight video below shows why college scouts are drooling over this young man. His second catch of this video is a beauty that he catches in double coverage. Andrews speed downfield really stretches the defense, and he would be a real threat in a pro style spread offense.
He does need to improve his ability to break tackles if he wants to continue to expand his game. In most plays of this reel he is brought down at first contact, although at the 1:30 mark he shows an ability to at least move the pile a bit after the initial contact.
His juke at the 2:00 mark of the video really shows what his strengths are as a player. A smart coach will try to get him the ball in the open field often. His spin move at 2:35 is a move that he should continue to work on, because it is just smooth.
His play at the 3:12 mark of his highlight reel is what he should continue to strive for. He has great measurables for wide receiver; he is 6-foot-6 and 220 punds, but for that size he needs to continue to improve his physicality with cornerbacks who are smaller than him.
He comes out Desert Mountain High School (Scottsdale, AZ), and is the tenth ranked wide receiver in the 2014 college football recruiting class.
