4 Star Quarterback William Crest’s Prospect Profile

Josh Holmberg-USA TODAY Sports

William Crest is one of the top quarterback prospects and he comes out of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School (Baltimore, MD); He is the eighth ranked quarterback in the 2014 recruiting class according to Scout.

He is a quarterback who can throw the ball with nice touch. His throw at :23 has just a beautiful arch. He also has the mobility to move around in the pocket and pump fake defenders out of position. He needs to work on moving through his progressions more quickly and also a bit on his accuracy. He will often throw the ball just a bit high or low for his receivers . His throwing motion has him release the ball a little bit low as well and this could be the root cause of his accuracy problems. Crest is dynamic in the red zone, because he can either throw floaters over the top with nice touch or he can run the ball in himself.

His run at 2:00 is a great one and shows how he can beat you with either his arms or his legs. Crest has good height for a quarterback at 6-foot-4 and 190 pounds, and he is being looked at by some of the top programs in the country. We will just have to wait and see where this young man plays college football, but he will be a special player when he gets there.
