5 Star Wide Receiver Jamil Kamara Prospect Profile
Jamil Kamara is a five star wide receiver out of Bishop Sullivan High School (Virginia Beach, VA); he measures in at 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds and is the sixteenth ranked wide receiver in the 2014 college football recruiting class according to Scout. He was first team All State last year and will likely repeat that honor next year.
He is player who can affect the game in a number of ways. In the first play of this highlight reel he takes the ball to the house off of a kick return. In the second play, he jukes out the entire other team and winds his way to a touchdown on the opposite side of the field. He has great size and hands for a receiver, and the catch he makes at 1:20 is a thing of beauty.
He can be either a super physical receiver at the next level, or he could end up being a hard hitting safety or cornerback who is also used on kick returns. His catch at 2:12 shows how he can spread the ball vertically for his team at the college football level; he would be best used in a spread offense where he can get space to operate. His return skills make him an attractive prospect and it will be interesting to keep tabs on where this young man might end up.
