Prestonwood Christian (Plano, Texas) forward Julius Randle was recently named to the McDonald’s All American Team; this came just days after he led his team their second straight State title.

“Mr. Wootten (McDonald’s All American Committee Chair) told us that if Julius was healthy enough to play in the game at a high level, they would have no problem adding him,” his mother Carolyn Kyles told USAToday’s Jason Jordan. “When he said that, I wasn’t worried about J making the game. It’s been a dream of his. I knew he’d make it happen.”

Randle was named to the Jordan team earlier this year as well, and it has been widely assumed that if he finished out the year healthy, then he would be a late addition to the team. This was rightfully done and it will be a thrill to watch Randle in the game, which will be in Chicago later this this coming year.

“I’m so happy right now, it’s a great feeling because this is something that I’ve always dreamed of,” said Randle. “I wasn’t sure if it was gonna happen or not, but now that it has I’m just so blessed. It’s an honor.”

Rant Prep will hopefully be a presence at the United Center when the best players in the country lace them, and it should be a great game. Congratulations to Randle on his second state title and he can now add something else to his growing resume.
