Jordan McLaughlin is one of the top point guard prospects in the 2014 college basketball recruiting class; he comes out of Etiwanda High School (Etiwanda, CA) and is the fifth ranked point guard in the class according to Scout.
“Jordan McLaughlin has come a long way over the past year. He has long arms for his size, is an explosive athlete who will surprise you with his burst to the basket, keeps improving as both a set shooter and with his ability to create his own shot.” Scout wrote on his recruiting page. “McLaughlin’s handles keep getting better and he has a ridiculous crossover that – combined with his quickness – helps him get right by his defender.”
McLaughline has high interest in his services from many major programs and he will be making more visits as the year goes on. This highlight reel shows you the type of finishing ability McLaughlin has for a point guard.
He can get creative around the rim with scoop shots or he can go right over you. McLaughlin’s dribble skills are already at an elite level; he is a one man fast break and if he can continue improving his defensive skills, then he could be as elite at the college level as he has been at the high school level. That would be quite a sight to see, and it will be interesting to see where McLaughlin lands.
