5 Star Prospect Tyus Jones Named to Twin Cities All-Metro Team

Tyus Jones is currently the number two ranked player in the country. He was recently named to the the Twin Cities All Metro team and deservedly so.

Scout.com wrote about Jones:

“The number one point guard in the Class of 2014 helped lead the Eagles to a 25-1 mark and number one ranking in Class AAAA. He averaged 20.7 points per game and had four games of 30 or more points, including a season-best 40 points versus Kennedy. Apple Valley is the big favorite in Class AAA and has just had six games that they won by less than double figures.”

Jones has said to the media that he wants to play college ball with number one ranked player in the country, Jahlil Okafor. Okafor has said likewise and it kills me that we won’t know about this for another year, but that’s part of the fun isn’t it?

Okafor’s season was recently ended by Simeon Academy and Jabari Parker in the Argo Sectional Final. I wish Jones went to school near enough by that I could check him out for my readers, but hopefully he will be a McDonald’s All American and then folks will be able to check him out at the United Center next year. Now we’ll just have to wait and see where Jones and Okafor end up. The offseason accolades have only begun for these two.
