Randall Cunnningham II, pro quarterback Randall Cunningham’s son, will be a starting high school quarterback next year according to ESPN. He was nicknamed “RG2″ by the Baylor Bears football coaches and he would be a great fit at the school. Some recruiters have mentioned if he’d like to play wide receiver, because he is so athletic.
“I don’t think that’s something he’d be excited about,” his Bishop Gorman coach Tony Sanchez said. “He’s got a strong arm. He’s got good hips. The arm strength is there. The athleticism is there. I’ll be honest with you. I’m excited to see what happens, because I don’t know. This kid, as an athlete, is off the charts. Most kids that size do not run like him. You give him an inch, he’s gone.”
His father mainly wants him to enjoy being a kid for the short time that he has left.
“I just want him to go out there and enjoy himself,” father Cunningham said. “It’s not the NFL. It’s not a business yet. It’s a game. I want him to keep that in mind. He’s had a lot of pressure on him, but I let him play the game.”
I think the Baylor Bears would be a perfect fit for Cunningham, but we will just have to wait and see where he ends up at the college level.
