After Julius Randle committed to the University of Kentucky Wildcats, he apparently gained over 11,000 Twitter Followers.
Wow. That’s the power of Big Blue Nation. Randle wrote about his twitter account and also how he found out about Kentucky’s NIT loss the day before his decision on his USATodayhss.com Blog. Shout out to them for producing really fantastic content lately.
“In the first couple of hours my Twitter followers went up by more than 11,000. That’s just crazy, but we all know Kentucky has the best fans. I can’t wait to get down there and play for them and play for Coach Cal. It’s gonna be crazy,” Randle wrote. “I was at Benihana when I heard about the loss to Robert Morris, and of course I hated that they lost, but it’s a young team and it’s been a tough year. We’ve had injuries and things like that, so that would be tough for anyone. Plus, there was a lot being put on their shoulders this season coming off the national championship.”
That was the main reason Randle decided to join the Wildcats; he wants the best shot at playing for a national championship so he can go pro the next year.
Randle is now part of a recruiting class that is being compared in terms of talent to the Fab Five. Whether they can live up to that hype will rest on how Randle can fit in with his very talented teammates. It should be quite a lot of fun to watch.
