Uh oh. The usual dread of the North Carolina Tar Heel fan in me is rising again. And every time that dread seems to rise around the mention of John Calipari, it usually means that the thing I dread will happen.
Don’t get me wrong, but if Wiggins goes to Kentucky, then we would be witnessing a truly historic recruiting class that would be a lot of fun to watch. But then college basketball next year would be a two horse race: Duke and Kentucky. I just want it to be at least a three horse with Carolina being in the discussion as well. The rivalry between Parker and Wiggins as a Blue Devil and a Tar Heel is just too tantalizing as well, but I wish Wiggins the best of luck. He has had a big week; he won the Gatorade National High School Boys’ Basketball Player of the Year on Wednesday and check out my twitter or facebook if you missed my interview with him.
Wiggins heads to Chicago for McDonald’s All American Game practice on Sunday, and I look forward to heading down to the United Center to check out the game. Stay tuned in to Rant for the all the latest in college basketball recruiting.
