Andrew Wiggins will be playing in the McDonald’s All American game tomorrow with some of the best young high school basketball talent in the country. Over the weekend though, he was at dinner when his older brother Nick Wiggins and his Wichita State Shockers upset Ohio State to make the Final Four.
“I kept asking my friends for the score,” Wiggins said to the Canada press.
He is very happy for his brother and wished him the best when I interviewed him last week. He has said also that Wichita State is his favorite to win it all.
“For him, Final Four, that’s a big stage, a lot of players don’t get the opportunity go to the Sweet Sixteen tournament or even get into the tournament, so I think he’s very blessed,” Wiggins said. “That just motivates me and makes me want to play at college too and get into the tournament, and play in front of the fans, entertain the fans.”
Wiggins is going to get a chance to play in front of the fans Wednesday at the United Center, and SportsCenter has been showing his 360 dunk on repeat.
The only thing that remains unclear is where Wiggins will play basketball next year. For now though, he is going to enjoy his week and hopefully his brother can enjoy his weekend even more. We’ll just have to see what happens.
