Andrew Wiggins Wants To Win Canada A Gold Medal In the Next Ten Years

Gatorade- Susan Goldman

Andrew Wiggins recently revealed an interesting 10 year goal to Slam Magazine. It has to do with Team Canada overcoming Team USA in the Olympics one day.

“Yeah, I think we’ll be able to give [Team USA] a good game,” he says. “I’m confident that we can win a championship—an Olympic Gold medal—in the next 10 years. Anything is possible.”

Wow. That is a bold one; with Team USA coming off of a dominant gold medal run it would be hard for Canada to win it in 2016. But in 2020 LeBron James will probably no longer be on the team, you cannot say that for sure though.

Wiggins played in front of Team USA last summer and played pretty well, and it would be a truly legendary thing if he was able to lead Canada to Olympic basketball glory and weaken the US Team’s stranglehold on the gold medal.

Wiggins is still undecided on his college choice, but the tweet below was of particular interest to me.

If Wiggins was a Tar Heel, man I would do everything in my power to go to as many of his games as possible.

Watch HS Hoops Coach Headbutt Referee

There is absolutely no excuse for this to happen ever. During an argument about a call, Neshaminy (Pa.) high school basketball coach Jerry Devine decided it would be a good idea to headbutt the referee to prove his point. Devine was then ejected from the gym and could now face criminal charges for his actions as well as losing his teaching and coaching job.
