Andrew Wiggins Looks To Shine At This Weekend’s Jordan Brand Classic

Gatorade- Susan Goldman

Andrew Wiggins is creating a lot of buzz lately on twitter. Fans of the different programs are getting very heated and even personal at times. I don’t really agree with personal attacks, but I’ll admit it made me chuckle a bit to see the passion spill out in that way.

Wiggins was recently named the Gatorade High School National Boys’Basketball Player of the Year and I was lucky enough to interview him that week. He will be looking to shine this weekend at the Jordan Brand Classic, and his matchup against Jabari Parker will be hotly watched. Parker was the player of the year last year and they are generally considered to be the two best players in this college basketball recruiting class. The game is in Brooklyn, New York and the players are practicing this week before the game happens.

Wiggins is still uncommitted, but the tea leaves seem to be pointing to the UNC Tar Heels. Here is hoping that James Michael McAdoo agrees to return to school, because then the Heels would have legitimate national title aspirations next year. It will be interesting to see the situation develop in the next month.
