Duke Blue Devils Commit Jabari Parker “Practices Like He Has Never Won”

Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY Sports

I highly enjoyed this tweet about Duke Blue Devils commit Jabari Parker.

I quite agree; seen Parker play live on the television a couple times and the thing that strikes me is the efficiency of his game. He has said that his favorite player is Oscar Robertson and you can see how that has formed his game.

Parker will be playing under Coach K next year and the only thing he lacks? A foil.

If Andrew Wiggins joins the North Carolina Tar Heels, then Parker will have his foil. The last two Gatorade National High School Boys’ Basketball Players of the Year being on Duke and North Carolina would ratchet up their rivalry ever more than it already is.

And just take a moment to imagine this. What if Duke and North Carolina met for the first time in a Final Four or championship game next year? It would probably go down as the most highly anticipate college basketball game in history and harken back to the Magic Johnson, Larry Bird national title game.

Definitely hoping that this becomes a reality even if it is a long shot. I’d just like to see how much more intense this rivalry can get.
