Huntington Prep head coach Rob Fulford and top ranked 2013 recruit Andrew Wiggins have been through the ringer the last few weeks. “It’s been a whirlwind obviously” Fulford said on Matt Jones’ Kentucy Sports Radio program. “From the McDonald’s game, to the Jordan game, to the Nike Hoop Summit.”

Wiggins recently helped lead the World Select Team to a resounding victory over the U.S. Team, and he has attended all these All American games with a bright hot spotlight on him. Everyone wants to know where Andrew Wiggins will go to school.

“As far as the recruiting spotlight, he doesn’t enjoy it but I also understand that,” Fulford said. “He and I communicate about the process, and I’ve always told him; if you don’t enjoy it, you’re the one that can end this. I’m not sure that he knows what he wants to do, but at the same time, I also can tell you how he got here. We recruited him for basically two years, developed a relationship with him; we thought deep down that he wanted to come here, but he kept doing what he’s doing here, ‘I don’t know, I’m not sure’ and then one day I got a call from his dad.”

So it seems that Wiggins’ parents and specifically father Mitchell Wiggins might have more to do with this delay than we initially thought. Fulford let slip some other interesting tidbits on KSR and shootout to Matt Jones for a fantastic interview with Fulford.
