Jahlil Okafor recently did an interview with John Wall that I came across on USATodayhss.com; shoutout to the quality of their content.
Here is an excerpt from the larger interview which is here: http://www.usatodayhss.com/amfam/article/jahlil-okafor-interviews-wizards-guard-john-wall
Okafor: How did you handle the big expectations in college?
John Wall: I just went out and played my game. I’m a little different; those types of things just motivate me even more.
Okafor: What was your best college memory?
John Wall: That’s a tough one. I’d have to say either Big Blue Madness or the NCAA Tournament. Big Blue Madness was just crazy. You’ve got 24,000 screaming fans and then I had the dance; plus that’s the first time I really got to interact with the fans. The tournament was great too.
Okafor: What do you wish you knew when you were my age that you know now?
John Wall: Just the way I’m reading and figuring out the game a lot easier now.
Okafor: Thanks for your time.
Okfafor was recently named to the American Family Insurance ALL-USA first team, and was humbled by the distinction.
“I’m just honored to even be considered for the ALL-USA team,” said Okafor. “It’s cool to be honored with all of those other great players. I just try and learn as much as I can from what they’ve done before me. I always want to learn as much as I can about the game.”
