Andrew Wiggins surprised many (including myself) when he picked the Kansas Jayhawks yesterday; what he also did was shake things up in the Big 12 conference next year. Even coaches other than the Jayhawks’ coaches are excited about Wiggins’ addition to the Big 12.
“The addition of Wiggins and the players that have chosen to return to the Big 12 instead of leaving for the NBA,” Baylor Coach Scott Drew said to ESPN. “Means the Big 12 fans will get a special year next season.”
The Big 12 will be absolutely loaded next year and the Jayhawks now have a pretty large bullse eye on their back. I expect Wiggins to have a year like Harrison Barnes did his freshman year; a couple struggles early and then Wiggins will settle in as the volume and crunch time scorer for his team.
He will most likely average a double-double and it should be a truly fantastic year of college basketball. Bill Simmons recently compared him to Kevin Durant, which is a pretty close comparison although Durant’s shooting was much further along than Wiggins is right now.
I can’t wait for Wiggins. He is CAN’T-MISS by all accounts. First can’t-miss college player since Durant. Love the Kansas fit for him.

Wiggins and Jabari Parker will make next year’s season of college basketball truly fantastic and it should be utterly fascinating to watch happen.
