For you Northern Virginia folks out there, this will be a comparison that you like. I think Theo Pinson who recently committed to the North Carolina Tar Heels could play a Marcus Ginyard role for the Heels and be an immediate defensive stopper. Ginyard went to Bishop O’Connell High School which is near where I grew up; it was also the high school of former Tar Heel Kendall Marshall.
Just spoke with Theo Pinson Sr on his sons commitment to #UNC. “People stopped me all day at work to say congrats” “The buzz was amazing”Advertisement

I still remember when Ginyard locked down J.J. Redick as a freshman and it was just thrilling to see what Ginyard was doing; I wonder if he has carved out a career for himself in Europe or elsewhere.
Also, I read an excellent piece by USATodayhss.com’s Jason Jordan about Pinson’s commitment announcement and sadly the announcement was happening on his late cousin’s birthday.

This really makes you feel for a young man who already knows what it is to lose someone precious to you. Pinson should be fun to watch on the Heels and here is hoping that he can be the defensive force that I believe he can become.
