I love the above picture of Andrew Wiggins, because it shows him in a moment of pure joy. He has something else to be happy about now; he is Sporting News’ top ranked small forward for next year’s season of college basketball, which I discovered when I came across the tweet below. This is not surprising news at all, and well deserved considering Wiggins’ senior season at Huntington Prep (WV).

Wiggins recently chose to spend the summer in Lexington over joining the Canadian Junior National team and truth be told he is probably making the right decision. His commitment to Canadian basketball in the future has not wavered and this will enable him to better prepare for his freshman season and prove Sporting News right.

Wiggins is up for Gatorade’s high school athlete of the year award later this summer, and I am definitely rooting for Wiggins to win it. He is not going up against a record breaker like Jonathan Gray like Jabari Parker was last year, so Wiggins just may win it.
