Cole Aldrich Becomes the First Poster Dunk Of What Will Be Many for Andrew Wiggins

Andrew Wiggins High School Basketball: McDonald's All American Games

Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

This went down yesterday and it is still sinking in for me. Andrew Wiggins is in for a special season of basketball with the Kansas Jayhawks as Cole Alrich had a front seat for yesterday.

Wiggins’ status for participating with the Canadian senior national team is still up in the air, so we will definitely keep you posted of it here. Wiggins is in consideration for Gatorade’s high school boys athlete of the year and he won the basketball player of the year award earlier this spring.

I’ve written here before that Wiggins will win Big 12 player of the year and his main compeition for that will be Marcus Smart who won the award last year and will try to win in for a consecutive year. His team might win more games, but something tells me that Wiggins is going to put up video game numbers next season that will difficult for Smart to keep up with. We’ll just have to see what happens.

Stay tuned later today for an update on Jabari Parker and if you have any questions feel free to hit me up on twitter or rant them below.
