Kentucky Wildcats Commit Julius Randle Working Hard Against Dakari Johnson This Summer

John Calipari

Beth Hall-USA TODAY Sports

Much to John Calipari’s delight, most of his incoming Kentucky Wildcats’ class decided to spend their summer in Lexington and get to know their teammates over the next couple months.

Julius Randle in particular will be greatly improved next year after a summer of going up against Dakari Johnson. I saw Johnson play at the NHSI tourament where he was named most outstanding player. Unbelievably, he will be coming off the bench for the Wildcats; he would start on any other college team in the country.

Randle came up a bit short against Andrew Wiggins in their matchup and that may be why Wiggins is considered to be the better player as a result. Big players come up huge in big games; that is just how it goes.
