Nigel Williams-Goss had one of the most impressive high school careers in recent memory and just brought home a gold medal today with the US U-19 squad in Prague. Williams-Goss hit his first three pointer of the game and in general he helped maintain a steady pace for the team. He also apparently threw a half court alley oop to Justise Winslow, which I did not catch but I’m sure it will pop up on twitter soon.
“@VarandK: What a half court alley oop pass from Williams-Goss to Justise Winslow.” It was nice, right up there with that Aaron Gordon dunkAdvertisement

Williams-Goss played at NHSI and his Findlay Prep squad ended up losing in the semifinals; it was a heart breaking moment for Williams-Goss who missed a three pointer at the buzzer that would have tied the game. He collapsed on the floor and did not attend the postgame interview session.

Williams-Goss’ has incredible heart and though he will never be a truly elite player, he has truly reached for his ceiling as a player and that is to be commended.
