Michigan State Spartans Head Coach Tom Izzo Watches Point Guard Tyus Jones

Tyus Jones NCAA Basketball: Michigan State at Minnesota

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Apparently Mike Izzo recently watched point guard Tyus Jones and Izzo is probably hoping that he can one day coach the young talent. That is probably a long shot at this point, but we will just have to see.

Jones could be in the running for many of the national player of the year awards and he is a package recruiting deal with his good friend Jahlil Okafor.

They could end up with Justise Winslow as well, but that likely depends on where Jones and Okafor decide upon. They are taking their visits this fall so we should have a decision sometime after they are finished.

Keep an eye out for a piece later today on what Okafor had to say about a fellow U-19 squad member. For all your college basketball recruiting updates just be sure to stay tuned in to Rant Sports Prep.

Watch HS Hoops Coach Headbutt Referee

There is absolutely no excuse for this to happen ever. During an argument about a call, Neshaminy (Pa.) high school basketball coach Jerry Devine decided it would be a good idea to headbutt the referee to prove his point. Devine was then ejected from the gym and could now face criminal charges for his actions as well as losing his teaching and coaching job.
