Da’Shawn Hand has announced that he will decide his school of choice on November 14. This comes around the start of fall camp for Woodbridge High School. Hand’s announcement comes at a great time as he will now be able to focus on this season and his current football team without constantly having to answer questions about when he will choose.
Hand’s date of November 14 will fall on the Thursday before his school’s first would-be playoff game, assuming they qualify. This allows him to turn his attention to only the playoffs. He no doubt has to hope to lead his team on a deep run this season after losing in the first round of the Class-6 Playoffs.
The Woodbridge Vikings is coming off of a 6-5 season in which he piled up over 100 tackles, including 40 for a loss and 16 sacks. He will likely look to improve on any technique issues he may have and try not to worry about improving his numbers for a third straight season.
The schools in play for Hand are Michigan, Alabama and Florida. After Hand eliminated Virginia Tech from his list of possible destinations, the competition has seemed to be wide open. He has a visit to Michigan set for September 6, and plans on making visits to Alabama and Florida before making a decision as well. No matter who Hand chooses, he is extremely talented and will challenge the upperclassmen for playing time as soon as he hits the campus.
This season will be very exciting for Hand.
