Head Coach Larry Brown Inspired Elijah Thomas to Play With More Passion
USATODAYhss.com’s own Jason Jordan released an excellent blog recently by Elijah Thomas who revealed what caused him to play with more passion this summer.
“I’ve just got a whole new approach to the game these days” Thomas wrote on USATODAYhss.com. “What happened was that I got a call from Coach (Larry) Brown at SMU and he really pulled my card about not playing with a lot of passion and not playing to the best of my abilities. It really struck something in me because he’s a legend and I really respect him. I came out and played hard and worked on all of the little things and, basically, just had fun out there. I talked to Coach Brown later that night and he said he was really proud of how I responded. That made me feel really good.”
If Thomas comes in playing with fire next season, then he could help Emmanuel Mudiay achieve the goal of winning the National High School Invitational. Mudiay would certainly be pleased if his big man can deliver next season in a big way and here is hoping that the event is in Bethesda again. Georgetown Prep is the perfect school for the event as it has a suitable gymnasium along with ample parking and updated facilities. Here is hopnig Prime Prep can return to the tournament in their second season as a school That would be quite a remarkable moment in their school’s history and we look forward to it.
