Tyus Jones NCAA Basketball: Michigan State at Minnesota

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Tyus Jones has been making headlines lately and it is mostly to do with his play, but also yo do with his recruiting. Jones unofficially visited Minnesota last week and also tweeted the four official visit dates he is taking recently. Jones is a package recruiting deal with top ranked center Jahlil Okafor, and if they go through with it they would be the best package recruiting deal in NCAA history. They developed a friendship through AAU and USA basketball.

Naturally, this package deal is of considerable interest to folks interested in college basketball recruiting because wherever they go will be an instant title contender. Jones and Okafor will both be in consideration for many national player of the year awards, and their other competition includes Emmanuel Mudiay, the Prime Prep point guard. It will be determined by their respective senior seasons, but you can bet we will keep you posted here at Rant Sports Prep. It should be an exciting race and it will culminate in another great NHSI tournament, which Rant Sports will hopefully be in attendance at again next year. Jones recently led the EYBL circuit in points, assists, and steals this year and it should be a truly interesting season of high school basketball. The Gophers are a true long shot, but there is always hope until there is not. Keep an eye out for an Okafor piece later today and stay classy San Diego.

Watch HS Hoops Coach Headbutt Referee

There is absolutely no excuse for this to happen ever. During an argument about a call, Neshaminy (Pa.) high school basketball coach Jerry Devine decided it would be a good idea to headbutt the referee to prove his point. Devine was then ejected from the gym and could now face criminal charges for his actions as well as losing his teaching and coaching job.
