Don’t get me wrong. There would be plenty of teams who would love to get Apple Valley (MN) point guard Tyus Jones on their team. However, the Jahlil Okafor package deal makes Jones even more desirable. When you know that when you land Jones you are landing the top center prospect in the class, then how could that not make him more desirable? It makes you wonder if Jones knew in the past that having Okafor by his side would make the point guard’s recruitment process a bit easier. It would not be a terrible thing to think and if their friendship is genuine as well, then why shouldn’t they team up? The only reason to wonder this is that Jones is an intelligent young man and it could not have escaped his attention that being a good friend of the top ranked center in the class would serve him well down the line.
@DaveTelep If u are Top 10 program, do you want Tyus Jones for 1 or 2 years or Tyler Ulis for 4? Jahlil Okafor is wild card here, I guess.

Jones and Okafor will be taking most of their recruiting visits together and they should make a decision by the end of November. They said in the past they wanted to make a decision before the season begins, but we will just have to see if that happens. In the meantime, we will just have to see how the recruiting landscape forms around them. They will make quite a splash when they form their package deal officially so stay tuned.
