Point Guard Tyus Jones Named Co-MVP of Coney Island Team at Under Armour Elite 24

Tyus Jones was balling in Brooklyn last night so much so that he was named Co-MVP for the Coney Island team; the point guard helped Coney Island to a 114-109 victory and Emmanuel Mudiay announced his recruiting decision during half time. Jones is the top ranked point guard in the country according to some outlets, and he is also a package recruiting deal with top ranked center Jahlil Okafor. The two have been friends since their time on the US U-19 squad, and they have kept in pretty close contact ever since. Jones said recently he wanted to make a recruiting decision by November so if there are any updates before that time be sure to stay tuned in. Check out a cool picture of Jones below.

Jones led the EYBL circuit this summer in points, assists, and steals so all in all it has been a pretty good summer for the Apple Valley (MN) guard. He now has a bit more hardware to add to his trophy case and is he continues to dominate then there could even be some national player of the year awards in his future. His main competition will be Okafor, but fellow point guard Mudiay will be in the mix as well once the season has concluded.
