Some Analysts Believe Julius Randle Could Be Drafted Before Andrew Wiggins

Dave Daniels- Rant Sports

Andrew Wiggins is widely considered to be the top pick in next year’s draft, but some analysts including Chad Ford believe that Julius Randle could leap frog Wiggins to the top spot. Wiggins had a masterful senior season and last month was named Gatorade’s high school athlete of the year. Randle meanwhile helped his high school team to a state title after missing almost all of the year with a fractured foot. Randle definitely has the potential to outplay Wiggins, but it will be interesting to see how their stock is affected by another year of basketball. The college competition should tell us quite a bit as well.

My opinion is that Wiggins will go number one, and then Jabari Parker or Julius Randle will go number two based on their play next season. Who knows though? As the tweet above states, it would definitely be a possibility for the Kentucky Wildcats to go on a wild run next season launching Randle into the national spotlight. Randle will have trouble matching up with Wiggins though as was witnessed in high school, and to me that is the main reason Wiggins will not be bested by Randle. If Randle can beat Wiggins in a March Madness game, then the story might be a bit different.
