Tyus Jones Still Considering Kentucky Wildcats After Emmanuel Mudiay’s Decision

Tyus Jones NCAA Basketball: Michigan State at Minnesota

Tyus Jones got some news last night that is going to keep the Kentucky Wildcats in the hunt for the talented point guard. This also keeps the Wildcats in the hunt for the Jones- Jahlil Okafor package recruiting deal, so that makes it doubly good news for Big Blue Nation. Zagsblog.com wrote an excellent piece on the Apple Valley (MN) point guard which is definitely worth checking out.

Jones would have taken the Wildcats off the list if Mudiay had joined, but Wildcats’ fans can have no fear now.

“It (Mudiay’s decision) just means I’m still looking at them,” Jones told SNY.tv after winning co-MVP honors in a 114-109 win at the Under Armour Elite 24. “If he were to have gone to Kentucky, we obviously would have had to have a talk with them because he is a point guard, but I’m still just gonna keep going through my recruiting process with Kentucky still involved and we’ll see where it goes.”

We will just how Jones’ recruiting visits go, although he will not be making his Lexington visit with Okafor. They have said in the past they want to make a decision by November, but we will definitely keep you posted if there are any updates between now and then. It would definitely be a benefit to them to make a decision before their senior season, and it should happen.
