Jahlil Okafor Congratulates Tyus Jones For Winning Elite 24 Co-MVP

Jahlil Okafor

Guy Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

Jahlil Okafor keeps pretty close tabs on his friend Tyus Jones. Heck they are most likely going to college together, but that did not stop Okafor from congratulating his brother on twitter recently for the point guard’s accomplishment at the Under Armour Elite 24 game.

The two players are going to make their recruiting visits over the next couple months and their last official visit is to the Duke Blue Devils. Got to put the house money on the Blue Devils pulling this one through, especially if Jabari Parker has been on the phone with Okafor telling the center that Parker will most likely stay for a second year.

Why wouldn’t Parker do that?

He has said in publicly, so it should probably be assumed that he has told Okafor privately. Jones and Okafor will not be done congratulating each other this year. They should both be in contention for many of the national player of the year awards, so that should be a pretty fun race to keep track of.

Jones deserves praise and congratulations not only for his performance over the games this summer, but also for the way he has handled himself with an increasingly bright spotlight. It is only going to get more intense for this young point guard, but it should be fascinating to watch his game develop as he continues to develop into a full fledged man.

Watch HS Hoops Coach Headbutt Referee

There is absolutely no excuse for this to happen ever. During an argument about a call, Neshaminy (Pa.) high school basketball coach Jerry Devine decided it would be a good idea to headbutt the referee to prove his point. Devine was then ejected from the gym and could now face criminal charges for his actions as well as losing his teaching and coaching job.
