Jahlil Okafor has been giving out a lot of love lately. He congratulated on Tyus Jones MVP performance at the Under Armour Elite 24 game, and the Whitney Young center also gave Emmanuel Mudiay props for “shocking the world” with the point guard’s recent commitment to Southern Methodist University.

That was a bit shocking to me as well, but Mudiay always said that the relationship with the coach was the most important thing to him and Larry Brown is a Hall of Famer. There is no two ways around it. Brown won a championship at both the college and the pro level and proved that he could manage a talented point guard with Allen Iverson.
It did seem like the Mustangs really snuck up on Mudiay, but something tells me that Brown has been in Mudiay’s ear for quite a long time. Now that Mudiay’s recruitment is over, we can begin to focus on whether he will get back to the National High School Invitational next spring.
Prime Prep lost in the semifinals last April, and next season Mudiay will get a chance at redemption. He even said after the loss in the press room that he did not want to end next season on the same not. He has been solely focusing on his game, and now that his recruitment is over the point guard will get to hone down even more.
