That is great news for fans of Big Blue Nation, because Jones is a package recruiting deal with the best center in the 2014 recruiting class, Jahlil Okafor. Jones has had a pretty solid summer to say the least. He was recently named co-MVP at the Under Armour Elite 24 game, and before that he led the EYBL circuit in points, assists, and steals. Not too shabby by the Apple Valley point, and in the meantime we will keep you posted on his recruiting visits which begin in two days.
In the meantime, John Calipari is probably scrambling. It seemed like Mudiay was a done deal at one point, but then the point guard slipped away. Calipari is most likely going to bring out all the guns on Jones now; obviously the point guard’s recruiting visit will be crucial. Unfortunately for Calipari, Jones and Okafor are not doing their Kentucky visit at the same time, so he will to make his pitch twice. If the old ball coach lands the package deal, then I’m sure he will not complain about making the pitch twice.
It seems like less of a possibility every day though. Brace yourself Big Blue Nation.
