Jahlil Okafor

Guy Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

Chuck Okafor recently spoke to the Chicago Sun Times and he had some truly interesting things to say. Chuck seems like he has been an incredible dad to his son Jahlil Okafor. Jahlil also happens to be the top ranked center in the 2014 recruiting class according to most outlets.

“I’ve never wanted to be overbearing,” says Chuck Okafor. “I just try to be very supportive in everything he does. In reality, I know I don’t have any power over anyone else. That’s nonsense. That’s not in me, that’s not my character.”

You can check out the full article below and it is quite good and worth taking a minute to check out.

Okafor is a package recruiting deal with top ranked point guard Tyus Jones, and if they actually go through with this then they will be the best package recruiting deal in NCAA history. Okafor recently called Jones his brother on twitter, while congratulating Jones on winning Co-MVP for the Under Armour Elite 24 game. They have even said in the past that they would want to go to college together regardless of basketball, so it looks this is going to go down.

That is all for today folks, but check back in tomorrow for a preview on Okafor’s visit to the Baylor Bears. Should be an exciting week to keep an eye on recruiting don’t you think?

Watch HS Hoops Coach Headbutt Referee

There is absolutely no excuse for this to happen ever. During an argument about a call, Neshaminy (Pa.) high school basketball coach Jerry Devine decided it would be a good idea to headbutt the referee to prove his point. Devine was then ejected from the gym and could now face criminal charges for his actions as well as losing his teaching and coaching job.
