Adam Zagoria has done it again with an excellent piece on Apple Valley point guard Tyus Jones, who has had quite a busy summer so far. He led the EYBL circuit in points, assists, and steals this summer and last week was named co-MVP of the Under Armour Elite 24 game. Jones is still considering a number of schools, but he is a package recruiting deal with top ranked center Jahlil Okafor. Okafor and Jones became friends during their time on one of the USA summer teams, and fell in the love with the idea of playing together after that. Seeing two friends play together is always fun to witness, so I’m hoping that this goes down.

You never know what is going to happen though. These two will likely be in contention for many of the National player of the year awards, so it will be interesting to see if there is any tension between the two throughout the year. I remember reading the report of an AUU game where the refs were telling them to calm down, but it turns out they were just yapping at each other like brothers would. Let us hope that they can play that way in their freshman season but it still remains to be seen whether they will become the best package deal in NCAA history or if they just so happen to go their separate ways.
