Baylor Bears Are Center Of College Basketball Recruiting World For the Weekend

Tyus Jones and Jahlil Okafor this weekend commenced the first of three official visits they are making together, and the Baylor Bears are hoping to show that with the recent emergence of Robert Griffin III and Brittney Griner shows that the program is ready for a major resurgence, and that they have championships in their future. That future would arrive more quickly if the Bears were able to land the best package recruiting deal in NCAA history. Have to say the fit would work well, because in all likelihood Ishmail Wainwright will still be with the Bears. Affectionally called ‘Ish by his high school coach, that is a young man with a complete game. The combination of him playing small forward while Jones runs the point is terrifying to imagine, and then you add Okafor on the low block and start thinking that is a national championship squad.

It is probably not going to happen for the Bears because the Duke Blue Devils seem to have the inside edge, but if their visit goes well then who knows? We could be talking about the Bears as legitimate title contenders, and then the program would truly blossom. It sure does seem to be on the verge of blooming right here, but we will just have to see how it shakes out this weekend. Also, sidenote recently saw Griffin III’s documentary “The Will to Win”, and it is worth recording if you have access. Peace y’all.
