Kansas Jayhawks Look Forward To Hosting Jahlil Okafor and Tyus Jones on October 18th

Jahlil Okafor

The Baylors Bears got the first crack at package recruiting deal point guard Tyus Jones and center Jahlil Okafor, but there is a program batting second hoping to pull of a coup and set themselves up for the foreseeable future. The Kansas Jayhawks have forward Andrew Wiggins arriving this year, and if Bill Self can add Jones and Okafor the year after then the coach will have truly proved himself on the recruiting path. He has said this year’s Jayhawks team is the most athletic he has ever coached, so the expectations for this group are going to be understandably high. Wiggins will of course lead the charge, and it will be interesting to see if Wiggins is used when Jones and Okafor visit.

You can bet that the Jayhawks will be hoping to put on their best face when the duo arrives, so it would be surprising if Wiggins is not involved in some respect. It will be interesting to watch Self-s journey as a coach in the next few years. If he can win another national title in the next couple seasons, then do not be surprised if he one day makes a jump to the pros. He’d be a pretty good coach for Wiggins one day in the pros, don’t you think? We’re putting the cart before the horse here, but to make a long story short: basketball is going to be fun to watch next season at all levels.
