Kentucky Wildcats Have To Handle Point Guard Tyus Jones’ Recruitment Delicately

Tyus Jones NCAA Basketball: Michigan State at Minnesota

This seems to be the monkey in the room for the Kentucky Wildcats as it concern point guard Tyus Jones. If Emmanuel Mudiay had committed to the Wildcats, then Jones would never have considered going there. The Wildcats head coach John Calipari seemed to fall in love with Mudiay for quite a while and losing out on him must of hurt him deep in his heart. Does Jones now feel like a backup plan? The Duke Blue Devils have made Jones their priority from day one, and that loyalty may just pay off in November.

The Wildcats unfortunately have to host Jones and Okafor’s visit separately due to scheduling issues. This puts them at a unique disadvantage, but Calipari is a creative guy so let us see if he can turn it into an advantage. If he can convince the duo to come to Lexington, then the Wildcats will be in contention for the next two years at the very least. They are likely to be ranked preseason number one, and it would shock me if they fell out of the top three. We’ll just have to see where this package deal heads, but you can bet that we will give you instant updates right here. Something tells me that Calipari is going to miss out here, stay tuned for an update on how Jones’ weekend went.
