Canadian basketball is on an upward surged that has been fun to watch in the past year, and you can even check out team Canada this year at the FIBA Championships. You can even stream most of the games on ESPN3, because basketball never stops. Forward Andrew Wiggins is not playing this week with the Canadian squad, but he has said in the past that he wants to bring a gold medal to Canada one day. His Canadian pride runs truly deep, because Wiggins even said this July that he would like to play for the Toronto Raptors one day. That is shocking due to the lack of success for that franchise in recent memory, but we will see if the Raptors could be so lucky one day. You can check out the other high risers of Canadian basketball below as well, though none of them have the potential of Wiggins.

Wiggins will be gearing up for a hyped freshman season with the Kansas Jayhawks, and some have even written (possibly even here) that the forward will put up similar numbers to Kevin Durant’s freshman season. Whether the numbers reach that level will likely depend on Wiggins’ freedom in Bill Self’s offense, but that is something we will definitely keep an eye on. In the meantime, we will all just have to sate ourselves on Wiggins’ mix tapes and then twiddle our thumbs until opening tipoff.
