Prime Prep point guard Emmanuel Mudiay recently made the shocking decision to roll with Southern Methodist University, and that left Kentucky Wildcats head coach John Calipari in quite a state. Or maybe not. Maybe he just brushed it off, and for the current season he should be just fine with his current team.
Next year though? If Calipari cannot land the Tyus Jones and Jahlil Okafor package deal, then the Wildcats might be on the outside looking in when the next season of college basketball rolls around. Certainly that is a good while in the future, but Calipari’s dominance on the recruiting front has been dominant, so whenever his success wanes you could say that it makes headlines. The tweet below calls Mudiay’s decision bad news for the Wildcats program, which you will not find an argument here.

In the meantime, the Wildcats will just boast the best ranked college basketball recruiting class of all time, and they will surely have national title aspirations. They do every year, but this year in particular will have quite a bit of hype around it.
It would honestly shocked me if they are not ranked the preseason number one, but who knows? Andrew Wiggins has been making noise in Lawrence, so nothing would truly shock me at this point. That is all for today everybody, but check back in with us tomorrow.
