Duke Blue Devils Offered Scholarship to Reid Travis on His Own Merit
When the Duke Blue Devils offered a scholarship to Tyus Jones’ high school teammate Reid Travis, it was written here that it was to make big push on Jones. That is true, but just wanted to clarify here that Travis earned everything offered to him. He is a talented player in his own right and just wanted to clear the air on that.

Being Jones’ AAU teammate may have just sped that process up, but cannot speak to any details concerning that here. The Blue Devils have been high on Jones for some time now, and apparently he has been quite interested in their program as well. Jones is the top ranked point guard in his recruiting class according to most recruiting outlets so you know we will keep an eye on how his visits go.
Almost all recruiting analysts (whose opinion I trust) is predicting the Blue Devils will land Jones, and if the package recruiting deal is actually real then top ranked center Jahlil Okafor will shortly follow. Kind of an insane combination to thing about, but it is most likely going to happen. Hard to think of Travis passing up the opportunity to play with those two is it not? Especially at a respected academic institution whose basketball program also has a strong tradition. Yep. This is going down.
