So apparently Reid Travis’ decision to join the Duke Blue Devils will have no sway on Apple Valley point guard Tyus Jones. This should not come as a surprise, although if Jones decides to go to Durham you can bet that Travis will think long and hard about it and probably then end up a Blue Devil. He is no fool; he knows that Jones will only make him better as a player at the college basketball level and make the game easier in a lot of ways, probably creating space and many easy baskets. The other reality is that top ranked center Jahlil Okafor will most likely be on whatever team Jones lands on, which only makes that team even more attractive for Travis.
First saw this news from Jerry Meyer of 24/7 Sports whose tweets I always enjoy checking in on, so check him out below.
@Arizona_Triangl My understanding is that Reid Travis has little to nothing to do with where Tyus Jones goes to school.

Do not get me wrong, folks, still think Jones would love to play with his AAU teammate again, but Okafor is the main thing Jones is focused on in recruitment and wherever the big man agrees to team up is most likely where it will go down. They have said they want to make their decision before the early recruiting period ends. So Let the countdown begin, early November until the best package recruiting deal in NCAA history. I’m ready.
