Well, Duke Blue Devil fans are probably jonesing for basketball right now and here is another little tease job for you Durham. It appears Jabari Parker will wear number one next season, which I saw in the Blue Devils team photo below. The hype machine has been building for Parker ever since Sports Illustrated called him the best high school player since LeBron James, and it probably did not help either that Parker won four state championships in a row. Winning is a habit for Parker and one that he is hoping to carry over to the Blue Devils.
You can check out that team photo mentioned earlier below by the way.
Here is the 2013-14 Duke Men's basketball team. Notice that Jabari Parker is #1. Coincidentally, he also wears #1. pic.twitter.com/itbhL4WbV1

Also, recently read that the Blue Devils may use Parker at center for stretches next season, so it will be interesting to see if Parker comes into the season bulked up a bit for some of that low post banging that is sure to happen. Something tells me that against the truly huge teams the coaching staff will keep Parker at power forward, but who knows? Maybe he has just been gearing up to become the best center in college basketball.
Parker did some special things during his high school career, and it will not surprise me to see him impress us further in college. But sometimes I do wonder, has the bar been set so high that Parker is destined to fail?
