Jahlil Okafor, top ranked center in the 2014 college basketball recruiting class, payed a visit to Lexington and the Kentucky Wildcats over last weekend. He also saw John Wall play in a charity alumni game, and head coach John Calipari’s old point guard impressed greatly with 40 points. The Whitney Young center has not given any indication that he is leaning in a particular direction, but it will be interesting to see if there are any major changes in the coming mont regarding Okafor’s recruitment.
Okafor is also a nice young man, and he even tweeted his appreciation for all the support over the weekend to Big Blue Nation.
UK fans showing love all weekend! Appreciate it!

Wildcats fans are certainly hoping Okafor decides to roll with them, but sorry to say that it is not super likely. Top ranked point guard Tyus Jones is a package recruiting deal with Jones and so media attention will follow the both of them until a decision is made. They have set early November as a loose guideline for the decision, and they are are visiting Durham (last) on October 25th, so draw your own conclusion there. We will have to see if the Cameron Crazies show more love to Okafor than Big Blue Nation did, but in the meantime will keep an ear to the grindstone about how Jones in-home visits went this week.
Jones and Okafor will both be in contention for most of the national player of the year awards, and Emmanuel Mudiay will likely get some love in that discussion as well. But we are putting the cart before the horse! First, let us see where Jones and Okafor commit.
