Jason Jordan Says Duke Blue Devils “In the Driver’s Seat” for Jahlil Okafor

Jahlil Okafor

Guy Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

Jahlil Okafor is the top ranked center in the 2014 college basketball recruiting class, and if you have not heard of him yet then you will soon. He could end up as the top pick in his class if he does not show any medical redflags in the coming years, so naturally he is a player whose recruitment is of great interest. To me anyway, so when I saw that Jason Jordan of USA TODAY was speaking to Kentucky Sports Radio about Okafor, knew I had to check it out right away. I’ll save you the time though, here it is below. Boom.

Really enjoy Jordan’s writing and had the pleasure of sitting next to him at the National High School Invitational, which was equivalent to sitting next to a high school b-ball encyclopedia.

Shout out to Matt Jones as well, whose radio work I always enjoy checking out. Here is a quick excerpt if you did not end up checking out the link.

“Okafor really, really, really likes Calipari and UK has a shot,” Jordan said. “But Duke is in the driver’s seat and no one disagrees with that.”

We should have a decision by November, but they have a couple more official visits between today and then. Now we just have to see if they can drive this thing home.
