Duke Blue Devils Will Focus on Power Forward If Package Recruiting Deal Misses

Jahlil Okafor

The Duke Blue Devils are on the hunt right now, and they took it out to Apple Valley this week to visit Tyus Jones for an in-home visit. The BLue Devils have been the leader for Jones for some time, so it will be interesting to see if they can close this thing out. Jones is a package recruiting deal with Whitney Young center Jahlil Okafor who also happens to be the top ranked player in the class according to Rivals.

Paul Biancardi does a pretty nice breakdown below about what the Blue Devils would do if they cannot land the best package recruiting deal in NCAA history.

Power forward will likely become a position to be focused on whether the Blue Devils get this thing done or not. But if they don’t land it, then they will have to scramble a bit. It seems to be going in favor of the Durham squad, but we all know John Calipari can make things happen quickly in the recruiting world.

Honestly though think the Tyler Ulis commitment to the Wildcats is going to take them out of the running, unfortunately for Big Blue Nation. Just cannot really imagine Ulis and Jones on the floor at the same time (and neither can Ulis’ dad), so the Apple Valley point may end up going to different pastures. For your college basketball recruiting updates, this is the spot folks.
