Kentucky Wildcats Highly Interested in Talented Forward Ben Simmons
The Kentucky Wildcats seem to be highly interested in Ben Simmons and after seeing the young man play at the National High School Invitational it is hard to blame them. Simmons ended up winning a national title with Montverde and his production was key. His teammate Dakari Johnson was named the most outstanding player in the tournament, and it will be interesting if Johnson is used in Simmons’ recruitment at all. They seemed to enjoy playing together and have to admit it will be weird to see Johnson and Kasey Hill play against each other in the SEC next season. It will be a truly odd experience, but it could even go on for a couple years if the two stay in school for a bit.
Saw in the tweet below that Simmons is going to trim his recruiting list soon, so that will be good to keep an eye on.
Highly regarded 2015 SF that UK has shown some interest in. Also HS teammate to Dakari Johnson @BenSimmons25 Cutting the list soon

Johnson famously predicted a college national championship shortly after Montverde won NHSI, which would delight Big Blue Nation and head coach John Calipari as well. Johnson will hopefully give the Wildcats the inside track on Simmons, but Calipari is also a pretty good recruiter in his own right and he is due for a resurgence next season after missing out on Emmanuel Mudiay.
Simmons will be looked upon to be a leader next season, and the forward might even lead the team in scoring. If he ends up on the Wildcats one day, I’m sure Johnson would welcome him as a teammate right away.
