Whitney Young center Jahlil Okafor killed it this summer, helping the US U-19 squad to a gold medal and he has also started to take his recruiting visits with top ranked point guard Tyus Jones.
They are a package recruiting deal and it is looking more and more like they are going to end up in Durham. Okafor was recently seen in Kentucky though and Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio called the center “huge” as noted in the tweet below.
Ran into Jahlil Okafor/Devin Booker and Tyler Ulis in the elevator at the hotel tonight. They seemed quite happy…and Okafor is huge

Okafor’s dad certainly enjoyed the Kentucky visit as well, and he was most impressed by the alumni charity game that featured the likes of star D.C. point guard John Wall.
“I think what stood out the most was that they were doing it for the community,” Chukwudi Okafor said to the Courier-Journal. “They raised around $1 million for 20 different charities. I thought that was just simply amazing that the boys came back to play that game for the community. I thought that was great.”
Okafor should make his recruiting decision by early November and they are going to Durham on October 25th so connect the dots there. Regardless of where Okafor decides to play, you can bet that his impact will be huge.
