Forward Andrew Wiggins Could Face Hype Pitfall After Chosen as Preseason All American
Forward Andrew Wiggins was recently selected as the only freshman on the Blue Ribbon preseason All American team, and it bears questioning whether this could be a pitfall for him later on. You can see below the news I saw below of his selection.

The Kansas Jayhawks could not be more thrilled to welcome Wiggins, but will the hype prove to be too much? Remember when Harrison Barnes was a preseason All American and then everybody trashed him when he started the year on a shooting slump? Well, Barnes turned out okay, but it will be interesting to see how long it takes the national media to turn on Wiggins if he struggles at first.

You need not worry about Wiggins though; this is a focused young man who likely does not read most of his press clippings and rightfully so. Do not anticipate Wiggins having trouble at the start of next season, but you never know because this is a very young Jayhawks squad although head coach Bill Self has called it “easily” the most athletic team he has coached.
They will have to prove that on the court, but here is hoping that Wiggins can avoid the pitfalls that all the hype presents and turn in a first team All American performance.
