Duke Blue Devils Hoping To Impress Tyus Jones and Jahlil Okafor Next Month

I’m a conspiracy theorist. That is just the way it goes.

I believe Jodie Foster had a love child with Mel Gibson she will never admit to. I also believe Michael Jordan was secretly suspended for gambling during his “baseball career”. Okay, never mind I don’t believe that one, but Bill Simmons does.

Here is another one for you though: Jabari Parker told Jahlil Okafor that the former Simeon forward would stay in school more than one year. It is a theory, only a theory, with no actual proof to back it up. But as an exercise, let us just imagine if Parker did say this. Would Okafor not want to go to Durham over every school? If only because Parker stood in Okafor’s way for three years of high school, cannot imagine Okafor wanting to be on opposite teams again. Imagining what the Duke Blue Devils could look like in 2014 is pretty tantalizing, although obviously nothing is set in stone yet.

The Blue Devils host Okafor and top ranked point guard Tyus Jones on October 25th, and Jones has written that he wants to make a decision by early November. Many have connected the dots and said they favor the package recruiting deal to end up in Durham. Have to say I’m in that camp, although I did hear some rumblings lately that Okafor might be a bit interested in the team down in Lawrence. That will definitely be something to keep an eye on, and for more conspiracy theories? Check back in later.
