Montverde (FL) forward Ben Simmons hit us with a new blog at USA TODAY recently, and he spent his summer in his native Australia.
“One of the best parts of being home was having everyone back at the house and having family dinners and things like that” Simmons wrote. “Just joking around a lot and things like that. I love that. We’re all pretty close so being with them was great as always, and I was able to eat my mom’s steak and Caesar salad. I think I had that about four times a week. It’s so good and I was lifting a lot during the week so I had to make sure I got the protein.”
There is other good news for Montverde’s hopes of repeating as national champion. He appears to have gained some extra height and weight over the summer as well.
“I’m up to about 6-foot-10, 230 pounds now.”
He came in fourth for ESPN’s 2015 player rankings as well, which he deserves congratulations for as well.

We will have to see if Simmons can help his team to another championship, and if Simmons makes it back, I vow here to do my best to cover it. Cuz that is what I do folks, and I like watching Simmons do his thing as well.
